Reverend Rickey Simpson-Gray
I am Rickey Simpson-Gray, Vicar, in the Parish of Wokingham St Sebastian’s, Sonning Deanery.
A bit about me:
My social friends know me as “Rickey” although my formal name is “Lennox” as my mother and father couldn’t decide and so I have carried dual names ever since. I am married to my lovely wife of 28 years, Nicki, and we have two children.
I served my first Incumbency as Team Vicar in the Parish of the Claydons, a Benefice of three churches and traditions, in North Buckingham. It was an honour to be serving our local rural communities.
I am originally from the Diocese of St Albans where I served in two team churches in the Hemel Hempstead Parish. Earlier, I served in Watford in praise and worship services, pastoral care and altar ministries.
I spent my formative years in the Church of God of Prophecy serving in the equivalent ministries of my late mother who was a Pastor. Beyond church, I served in several government roles as a Chartered Management Accountant. My wife, Nicki, is a Child Psychotherapist.
I relax by reading, walking and play a bass guitar with several friends covering different music genres and am sponsored by Thwaites Stringed instruments.
I am really excited that God has called me to this new post. I am looking forward to building connections, finding opportunities, offering encouragement and support after a few challenging years. I hope you’ll join me as we look to the future of journeying together with fun on this exciting road of discovery and opportunity.
Shalom

Calendar
A Bible reading from the 60th chapter of Isaiah during this season of Epiphany: “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the Lord rises and appears over you. All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance." Amen
A Prayer for today Heavenly Father, you have called us in the Body of your Son Jesus Christ to continue his work of reconciliation and reveal you to the world. Forgive us the sins which tear us apart; give us the courage to overcome our fears and to seek that unity which is your gift and your will; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
