I'm New Here

Whether you’re already a Christian believer, someone who wants to explore faith or would just like to experience a service of worship, St Sebastian’s Church and its community would love to meet you.

There are usually people waiting to welcome you at the door so if there’s something you need or want to know, please just ask.

At the end of the service, we serve coffee, tea and biscuits so if you don’t need to rush off, please feel free to stay and get to know us better.

What to Expect

10:00am Sunday Worship services follow the regular pattern below, save for a reduced pattern during the summer months and other seasonal changes at Christmas and Easter:

1st Sunday          All Age Worship and Communion

2nd Sunday        Worship and Word

3rd Sunday         Worship and Communion

4th Sunday         Worship and Word

5th Sunday         Worship and Healing

All Age Worship is a Holy Communion Service for all ages (Children, Young People and Families) usually led by our Youth Leader. It is an interactive worship of action and movement with singing, a talk and Bible reading that seeks to equally value people of all ages.

Worship and the Word is a non-Eucharistic Service.  The informal structure, complemented by a Service Book and overhead projection of the service, reflects our love for Worship Hymns / Songs, Bible readings, the Word of God and Intercessions, all within the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Worship and Communion follows an adapted Common Worship format.   It is complemented by a Service Book and overhead projection, also features Worship Hymns / Songs, Bible readings, the Word of God, Intercessions and Holy Communion.

Worship and Healing takes place on 5th Sundays and provides an extended time of Worship and a focus on Prayer in the ministry of Healing.  We reflect on prayer as a guide to the anointing of the Lord.

The Base is a fortnightly Sunday ministry running at the same time as main services for all ages.  It is a Fresh Expression space for people to explore their faith in an age relevant way.  Parents can decide whether to leave their children and go to the service in the Church or remain with The Base.

Morning Worship and Communion services are held on Sunday mornings at 8:00am and fortnightly Wednesdays at 10:00am (please check Parish calendar).  Services follow the Common Worship structure and is supported by the recently refreshed Service Book.  Our worship reflects the community’s love for traditional Liturgy, Bible readings, the Word of God, Reflection, Intercessions, and Holy Communion, all within the ministry of the Holy Spirit

6pm Services have recently returned as a space for new encounters with singing, praises and the Word of God. All essentials for supporting the grounded life. The monthly service, on the 4th week of every month, is a place of new spiritual discoveries and finding God as a community.   All services will be supported by a live music band and singers, and who knows where the Lord will take us.   Please check the Parish calendar for the next service.

The Wider Community

We have a weekly mailing list and would love to stay in touch.  Please let us know via the Contact Box on this website and we can keep you posted of future services and events.

We have a Public Facebook Account where you will find current and future social media announcements, opportunities where you can join us (by ‘liking us’).  It is also another channel through which we can remain in touch, read Christian messages of the day and our prayers for the local community.

Finally, should you ever need a local Community Hall for hire, why not ask.  Our halls are sufficiently large for special private events and reserving a few hours is a simple as checking the online calendar for a date and making an online booking via this website.
